The organization was created in Sumy on the faculty of the Ukrainian Banking Academy in 1997. Its founders were the teachers of the UBA who were interested in the improvement of the professional level of the Law faculty students. The first manager of the project was the candidate of the legal science, the docent and the Head of the Criminal-Legal sciences faculty Dmytro Lukyanets. The manager assistant was the candidate of the legal science Zhanna Zavalna. Because of lack of the financing the legal clinic terminated its activity.
The “Legal help” restarted its work in 2000 with the financial support of the International Renaissance Foundation and the American Bar Association.     

Aims and tasks:
The legal clinic aims are: the improvement of the professional level of the lawyers; the development of the scientific base and popularization of the legal knowledge; the defense of the rights of the legal clinic’s members and the rights of the citizens.
